In the summer of 2010, Rob and Joanne Brannon and family moved to Tropic and began holding church services as Bryce Canyon Bible Church under Biblical Ministries Worldwide (BMW). After meeting in several temporary facilities, they purchased the property at 1041 N. Highway 12 in 2013 and, after significant renovation, held services there until 2017.

At that time, the Brannons came to realize that God was calling them on to other ministry opportunities. BMW donated the property and contents to Marysvale Baptist Church (MBC) in Marysvale, Utah. MBC held weekly Bible studies in the building from 2018 on. After resigning as pastor of MBC, Pastor Jonathan Edwards and his wife, Chrissa, started holding Sunday services in April of 2023 under a new name, Community Baptist Church. The Edwardses have served with Northwest Baptist Missions since 1975, planting several other churches in Utah. Marysvale Baptist Church is acting as the sponsoring church until Community Baptist Church incorporates as a local, independent Baptist Church.
